The biggest beach event of the year is just around the corner!
That’s right, the annual Charlie Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament gets underway Tuesday and runs through Wednesday.
This hugely popular competition has been a local tradition since 1957.
Pros, wannabes and everyone in between will flood the beach in an array of crazy costumes for two days of the most intense volleyball ever seen.
Teams of six will compete for prizes and those all-important bragging rights.
The tournament has gained national attention and draws crowds of over 60,000 spectators and 200 teams.
In recent years, the event became known as ‘the party of the year,’ attracting a rowdy mob more interested in partying than volleyball. So this year, the city of Manhattan Beach decided to schedule the competition for mid-week as opposed to the weekend.
This is one event you don’t want to miss, so head to the beach for some insane volleyball action and one of the South Bay’s most legendary parties. The finals happen on Wednesday.
