The Western Museum of Flight, located in the city of Torrance at Zamperini Field, has numerous aircraft, exhibits and other displays as well as a lecture series. This Saturday, July 21, the series features WWII veteran and author of Back from Combat, Charles Norm Stevens, a bombardier in the 8th Air Force. Having flown—and survived—his requisite 34 missions, Stevens was then trained for a new kind of mission in a new set of hostile skies. He was schooled in the newly-emerging technology of radar target-finding. Stevens describes how American technology was invented, developed and deployed during one of the defining eras of our nation’s history. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. and is free to museum members. General admission is $5. The Western Museum of Flight is located at 3315 Airport Drive, Red Baron #3, right next to the airfield.
