South Bay Show to Feature AES Southland President Eric Pendergraft

Listen to The South Bay Show - Vote 2013

The South Bay Show welcomes guest Eric Pendergraft, President of AES Southland, on Friday, February 15 at 7:00 a.m.

The South Bay Show has been airing a series called 'Vote 2013' for the past two months to give local voters an opportunity to hear what the candidates have to say.

'Measure A' is a citizen's initiative on the March ballot that could impact the AES property. It's a very hot topic with parties on both sides passionately pleading their case.

On February 22, The South Bay Show will feature proponents of Measure A, specifically its auhors, Bill Brand and Jim Light.

The South Bay Show airs weekdays at 7 a.m. on Blog Talk Radio,

You can listen to the show live or at your leisure here: http://southbaybyjackie.com/february-15-2013-aes/

Again Eric spins the pollution debate. if the current power plant puts out 1 gallon of pollution a new power plant will put out more than a gallon. It isn't apple to oranges it is total amount of pollution output. It doesn't matter what type of machinery you use it only matters how much you pollute. A better comparison is someone that smokes. If they smoke 1 pack a day it is more pollution than if they smoke 1 cigarette no matter what the cigarette. If the CEC gives AES a permit then the cost to buy the property will be much more than if they don't get a permit.

Pollution is just one thing but what about the un kept AES-Edison property you would think after all these years down there they would have cleaned that dump up.

From a conversation I had this morning with one of the finest coastal land-use attorneys in California: "If AES is foolish enough to sue after Measure A passes, the Court will dismiss the AES case within a few months and order AES to pay the City's attorneys' fees under the anti-SLAPP laws of California Code of Civil Procedure Section 425.16."
