Dominique's Kitchen Celebrates Summer with New Seasonal Menu Items

First time diners to Dominique’s Kitchen will quickly appreciate what a special place it is.

The décor is so warm and inviting, it almost feels as though you’ve dropped in unannounced at the home of good friends….and they’re thrilled you did.

While the kitchen is Dominique’s domain, his lovely wife, Liza, effortlessly manages the front of the house, welcoming guests and seeing them comfortably settled.

Chef Dominique Theval specializes in European/French dishes he refers to as ‘sentimental favorites’ and his goal is to make good food an everyday occasion.

This casual, neighborhood bistro offers an enticing choice of small plates and appetizers including, onion soup, charcuterie, sweet potato fries, lamb sausage, pate and escargot.

Entrees are time-honored favorites: roasted chicken, grilled steak, lamb chops, linguini with smoked salmon, slow braised beef short ribs, pan-seared sole fillet, scallops and other classic dishes.

Portions are generous, the service attentive and the prices are remarkable for such a high quality dining experience.

Members of the local media were recently invited to a tasting event to preview the new, seasonal additions to the summer 2013 menu.

Delicate smoked trout rillettes with green beans and shallots has been added to the appetizer menu and a refreshing, new salad of grilled watermelon with goat cheese, pine nuts, arugula, dried cranberries and baby calamari will supplement the salad selection.

New entrees include a perfectly seared Ahi tuna nicoise with organic greens, haricot vert, black olives, anchovies, boiled egg, fingerling potatoes and tomatoes dressed in olive oil and lemon and a gluten-free ravioli of the day that will have diners asking, “Are you sure there’s no gluten in this?”

A new, show-stopping, dessert item, a light, fluffy Baked Alaska, is served in individual portions and topped with a delicate eggshell containing flaming liqueur. It’s sure to be a huge hit with dinners.

The seasonal menu items will be available beginning the first week of July.

Dinner is served from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. They are closed Tuesdays.
