Living Tango presents Valentine Tango for Sweethearts classes on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 at two locations in the South Bay. This is not just a dance class. Couples will learn how to connect on a deeper, more authentic level, how to communicate in ways they may have never done before and how to work as a team. The event includes dance instruction, champagne toast and chocolates, live performance and a tango CD. Both classes will be taught by professional tango instructor Ilona Glinarsky of Living Tango. The first class will take place on Friday, February 14 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Studio Art of Dance located at 113 Main Street in El Segundo. The second class is on Saturday, February 15 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Clark Building located at 861 Valley Drive in Hermosa Beach. No dance experience is required and left feet are welcome! The Western Museum of Flight presents an Aerospace Make & Take session on Saturday, February 15 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The event, presented in cooperation with Pacific Coast Hobbies, features historic fighter aircraft building kits for adults and children five years and older. Guests are invited to build as many models as they like. Each kit is $14. The staff of Pacific Coast Hobbies will be on hand to assist with building and answer technical questions. A real Wildcat warbird will also be on display and guests are invited to meet the pilot. These Make & Take sessions also include entry to the museum. The Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation is proud to present Dancing with the South Bay Stars III on Saturday, February 15 at 8 p.m. The event pairs local ‘celebrities’ with professional dancers in a competition to raise funds for the Foundation and the participants’ favorite nonprofit organizations. This season, nine of the South Bay’s brightest stars will slip into their dancing shoes, take the stage and show off their skills! Reserved tickets are $50, VIP tickets (first five rows) are $75. Join Cancer Support Community-Redondo Beach (CSC-RB) and South Bay restaurateur Michael Franks on Monday, February 17, for Undiscovered Chefs 2014: Food, Booze, and You, at Chez Melange in Redondo Beach. Up and coming chefs are encouraged to take part in an exclusive, hands on, cooking encounter with Michael Franks and Chef Robert Bell of Chez Melange, and then a unique Chez experience that includes the restaurant’s Bouzy Gastropub and Bar Comida. Join Michael and a team of student chefs for this exclusive culinary event. Guests will enjoy a gastronomic experience as they watch the presentation of chefs and bid on many valuable silent and live auction items. Chez “Student Chef” experiences are limited and selling fast at $225 per person (from 2 to 9 p.m.). Tickets for dinner guests are $95 per person (from 5 to 9 p.m.).
