Jackie's South Bay Weekend Guide for February 27, 2014

This weekend we’re featuring events spanning the length and breadth of the South Bay - from El Segundo to Palos Verdes, there’s something for everyone.

Join Art Flying Yoga for their One Year Anniversary Celebration on Friday, February 28. The studio offers an astounding array of programs such as aerial silks, aerial hoop, belly dancing, Zumba, bar-fly and a variety of yoga disciplines – Vinyasa, Yin, Core, Kundalini and Prenatal. The event will feature student and instructor demonstrations. There will also be a raffle with cool prizes, including one month of free yoga! The Rotary Club of Redondo Beach presents Casino Night on Saturday, March 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the     Toyota Auto Museum in Torrance. All donations go toward the club's charitable and humanitarian activities. The live and silent auctions offer up vacations, sporting events, meals, wine and pampering…lots of pampering! El Segundo Museum of Art presents Movie Night: The Impressionists on Saturday, March 1 from 7 to 10 p.m. ESMoA will project The Impressionists, a mini-series that tells the intimate history of the most illustrious brotherhood of Impressionist artists Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne and Manet. Prior to the screening, guest are invited to participate in a discussion of Experience 09: SILENCE, which features works by Monet and Manet, with an educator. This is the last weekend to catch Shrek the Musical at the Norris Theater. This stage production of Shrek the Musical – based on the smash hit DreamWorks film – brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage at the Norris Theatre for seven performances through March 2. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, as well a 2 p.m. show on Saturday, March 1. Tickets are $15 for children aged 18 and under and $25 for adults. This is a wonderful show for kids and a great way to introduce them to live theater.
