Del Amo Fashion Center hosts its annual Girl’s Night Out event, tonight, Thursday, September 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Outdoor Promenade. Guests will have the chance to take advantage of a variety of trendy advice and pampering offerings dedicated to women only, aiming to help them feel and look their best. And now for something completely different….Green Hills Memorial Park is celebrating the completion of their new Pacific Terrace Mausoleum with a Grand Opening on Thursday, September 12 which will include a wine tasting, food, music and the Green Hills Retrospective art exhibit from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The art exhibit will continue September 13 through September 15. Equinox and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy present the Yoga Plus Guided Nature Walk to Pelican Cove/Terranea Bluffs on Saturday, September 14 from 2 to 5 p.m.  De-stress with a free yoga session led by Equinox trainers, followed by a journey through restored lands. The sunset views are stunning and all levels are welcome. There is free parking in the public lot at Pelican Cove. Attendees will meet in front of the Pelican statue. Chapter 96 of the Experimental Aircraft Association presents a Fly-In and Model Airplane Exposition on Saturday, September 14 at the Compton/Woodley Airport from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled family event on the flight line at Compton Airport and watch dozens of control line and radio controlled model aircraft perform stunts and take part in a landing contest. The event also features full-scale and experimental aircraft displays and other types of flying machines with owners and pilots on hand to answer your questions. Flight simulators will be available with live, hands-on training opportunities as well as glider assembly and flying for kids 10 and under. Hobby vendors will be on site offering their products and services to assist interested attendees on how to get into the sport. Lunch and refreshments will be available as well. Admission is $3 per person and kids under 10 get in free. Free parking is located on site and folding chairs are recommended so you can watch all the action in comfort. The first ever Lawndale Jazz & Blues Music Festival will take place at Lawndale Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, September 14. Sponsored by the City of Lawndale and Guitar Center South Bay, the Festival will showcase a variety of bands and musicians including J. Boykin, Kastro Band, The Lawndale Blues Boys, Pat Chartrand & Friends and Howlin’ Blues Boogie Band. The event begins at 1 p.m. and admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. There will be food and drinks available for purchase at the venue. KLOS radio station will be on site covering all the festivities live! It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some great music with family, friends and neighbors in the heart of the South Bay. South Bay Galleria, in partnership with Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi and Designing Women South Bay, will hold the annual Reinvent, Recycle, and Reuse Clothing Drive, collecting gently used professional attire for unemployed men, women, as well as male and female veterans re-entering the workforce. The Reinvent, Recycle & Reuse Clothing Drive will take place on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in South Bay Galleria’s Food Court located on Level 3. Guests are invited to drop off gently used, clean and on hangers, professional clothing, such as skirts, slacks, suits and button up shirts, as well as ties, shoes and accessories. These items will then be donated to Working Wardrobes’ Career Success Program to aid job-seeking veterans and other men and women in the community. On September 15, Shade Hotel will host a Cocktail Party Pop-Up Dinner featuring delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine with an elevated twist by the former Chef de Cuisine at The French Laundry, Timothy Hollingsworth. The evening will feature a sneak peak of his new restaurant venture with tray-passed tacos, fresh salads, house made salsas and four specialty cocktails from the Taqueria bar. Rock & Brews will host its third annual Local Craft Beer Festival on Sunday, September 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. at their flagship location in El Segundo. The event, which is fast becoming one of the most popular annual gatherings for beer lovers in Los Angeles, will feature fun-filled activities for the whole family. As a special treat, this year, KISS front men and Rock & Brews co-founders, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, plan to kick off the festivities! Designed for beer lovers – and the people who love them – the event will welcome as many as 20 local craft beer brewers, including El Segundo Brewing Company, Hangar 24, Beachwood, Eagle Rock and Strand Brewing, just to name a few, and offer Rock & Brews signature quality comfort foods as well as popular circus fare such as popcorn and cotton candy. You don’t want to miss the 21 Annual Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes on Sunday September 15. This year, the Concours celebrates the Age of Elegance by showcasing some of the world’s most luxurious classic automobiles. In addition to viewing more than 200 exhibited cars, visitors can see craftsmen at work in Restoration Alley, shop for gifts, dine in the elegant Club House and examine show cars in the display areas. The Concours will be preceded by a Road Rallye on Saturday, September 14. Considered one of the premiere car shows on the west coast, the Concours attracts the top exhibitors in their class from all over the western United States.
