I received some good news on the Covered California health insurance exchange yesterday morning. My cost for a plan similar to the one I had under group coverage a few years ago is only $24 a month more now than I paid then. (Sorry, Tea Partiers; my health insurance won't be free nor am I on "the dole". I am self-employed and I work every bit as hard as you.) But, hey! Thanks to Godless Socialists intent on destroying the very fabric of our Bald Eagle-loving society, being a free-lancer with a pre-existing condition won't be a problem anymore. Not like it was when a Blue Cross rep told me in 2010 when I left their group plan and tried to get coverage, "As an individual, you are uninsurable--that's just the way it is." I know they all said that then, but it will give me great pleasure to choose someone other than Blue Cross through the exchange. Because, you know, that's just the way it is...
