What does healthy mean to you?

What does healthy mean to you? Ask yourself this question.

Is it being able run a marathon, or perhaps its being able to play with your grand-kids? Is healthy fitting into your wedding gown or suit or your high school pants. If you could run a 5 minute mile but weren't happy with your job, your relationships, would you still be healthy?  If you could compete in triathlons but were on the verge of a heart attack would you still be healthy?

Health is all these things and then some. It is a holistic term – humans aren't one dimensional and subsequently our health state cannot be either.  Healthy is when it is all working together, congruently, body, mind and spirit.  Needless to say we are not perfect nor may some of us be in perfect health; but we can take a variety of steps to improve at least one thing about our health – especially with so many options to choose from.

Today choose one way to nourish your life.  It may be getting in enough water, a long walk, an invigorating yoga class or a beautiful plate of vegetables.
