A gathering and a memorial service in honor of —the man who was killed July 28 when a at the corner of Mackay Lane and Artesia Boulevard in North Redondo Beach—have each been planned.
The first event, a potluck comedy show in Alkire's honor, will take place Sunday at 5 p.m. at in North Redondo Beach, according to Patch commenter Janet Billings, who described herself as a friend of Alkire's.
"Bring a smile and a good memory of Richard, as that is what he would want," said Billings in a comment on Patch.
Additionally, a memorial service planned by Alkire's family is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at , according to Alkire's son-in-law, Ian Breen. All are welcome.
Bogey's Sports Bar is located at 2300 Artesia Blvd. Pacific Crest Cemetery is located at 2701182nd St. Both places are in North Redondo Beach.
