Thomas Pendergrass, 85, Dies
Pedergrass worked for more than 30 years in the transportation industry.
Redondo Beach resident Thomas J. Pendergrass died "quietly in his sleep" last Saturday with his son and daughter at his side, according to an obituary posted on LAFuneral.com. He was 85.
Born March 3, 1928 in Newcastle, Texas, Pendergrass served in the U.S. Navy and worked for more than 30 years in the transportation industry, according to LAFuneral.com.
He moved to Redondo Beach four years ago.

He is survived by his son, Tom Pendergrass III; his daughter, Susan Cavano; brother Douglas Pendergrass; sister Janice Mays; one granddaughter and several in-laws, according to LAFuneral.com.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at Rice Mortuary, located at 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance. A short reception will follow.
