Goodbye, and Thank You!

Thank you, Redondo Beach, for making my three years at Patch memorable.

As some of you already know, Patch laid off hundreds of my colleagues and me on Wednesday as part of a restructuring of the entire company.

The past nearly three years covering Redondo Beach have been a thrill. My first story was about a dolphin that experts told me was not eaten by a great white shark; my last, the second follow-up article about an AR-15 found on Vincent Street. In between, I've reported on dancing firefighters, homicides, accidents, fires, whales, AES Redondo Beach, the waterfront revitalization, Bar Rescue's transformation of Kilkenny's into Breakwall and its eventual closure, heroes, and more. I think I missed fewer than a dozen city council meetings during my tenure at Patch. There are too many stories to count.

But I couldn't have done it without all of you, the readers. You sent me news tips; you supported me during rough times; you occasionally drove me crazy; and you helped me be the best reporter I could be.
