Redondo Beach Jail Open for Visitors on Sunday

The Redondo Beach Public Safety Fair will feature K-9 and SWAT unit demonstrations.

The Redondo Beach Police Department will kick off Fire Prevention Week and Crime Prevention Month on Sunday with the 18th annual Community Safety Fair and Police Department Open House, according to a news release from the department.

The event will feature tours of the police station and jail; live demonstrations by the K-9, motorcycle and SWAT units; displays of police equipment and fire apparatus; safety and crime prevention exhibits; and free gun locks and child identification kits.

"As part of the Community Oriented Policing philosophy, the Police Department's doors will be open to the public," according to the news release. "There will be numerous photo opportunities for children and adults."

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Civic Center and police station, located at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Diamond Street in South Redondo Beach.
