Four juveniles stopped on suspicion of brandishing a gun were in custody today in connection with two South Bay robberies, Manhattan Beach police said.
Manhattan Beach police monitoring a crime broadcast about someone brandishing a gun in neighboring Redondo Beach about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday spotted a white, four-door car matching the description of the one used in the crime, according to Manhattan Beach police Sgt. Paul Ford.
Officers made a traffic stop at Manhattan Beach and Aviation boulevards and learned a pizza deliveryman had just been robbed a gunpoint in the 1700 block of First Street by suspects matching the same description, Ford said.
During the investigation, police learned of another robbery being investigated by El Camino College police, which Manhattan Beach police were able to tie to the four juveniles in the car, Ford said.
All four youths, whose names and ages were withheld, were booked on suspicion of robbery and taken to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey, Ford said.
