The motorcycle crashed at the intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Valmonte in Palos Verdes Estates, and the pair ran off. Officers searched the area, aided by police dogs and helicopters, but the suspects eluded them and the house-to-house portion of the search was called off about 7:20 a.m., Freeman said.

Police found a backpack containing money that was taken from the store, along with a replica handgun similar to a "gun" that was described by the crime victim, Freeman said. Anyone knowing more about the case was urged to call police at 310-937-6685.
