Bar Fight Suspect's Hearing Postponed

The hearing for one of the two suspects in the fatal beating of Pats II Cocktails bouncer Terie Colecchi is postponed to Monday.

The arraignment for one of the men suspected in the fatal beating of a bouncer outside in South Redondo Beach was postponed Thursday until Monday, City News Service reported.

Rene Anthony Avina, 23, and Francisco "Frank" Cobarruvias Jr., 35, are accused of beating Pats II employee Terie Colecchi, 49, outside the bar before 2 a.m. on June 2. Colecchi died at the hospital.

Cobarruvias is also scheduled to be arraigned at the Torrance Courthouse on Monday.

The postponement comes on the same day of a benefit show at to raise money to be put in a trust fund for Colecchi's 11-year-old son. The show, organized by Mike Blotzer, will feature The Supplements, Carothers Brothers, Dive Bar Stickup and Valhalla, featuring Bobby Blotzer of Ratt.

A silent auction and raffle are also planned. A minimum suggested donation of $20 is requested for entry, and the doors open at 7 p.m. Thursday

Those who wish to donate to the trust fund can make checks payable to  Smart FBO Jack Colecchi, according to Terie Colecchi's twin sister, Jamie Dudynsky. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 55371, Boston, MA 02205.
