Friends of Vicki Bergman and her daughter, Courtney, who were found dead Tuesday morning in their Rockefeller Lane apartment, have set up a memorial fund to help pay for funeral costs, the Easy Reader reported Friday afternoon.

According to reporter Chelsea Sektnan, donations can be made to account No. 3009158188 at local branches of Chase Bank. The routing number is 322271627.

To mail a donation, write a check payable to "Vicki & Courtney Bergman Trust" and include "Account No. 3009158188" in the memo line, according to a post by Tara Haynes Metzker on the Memory Lane with Courtney & Vicki Bergman Facebook page. Checks can be mailed to the following address:

National Bank By Mail (NBBM)
KY1-0900
Chase Bank
PO BOX 36520
Louisville, KY 40233-6520

The on Harbor Drive, where Courtney Bergman worked as a hostess before her death, is also accepting donations. The restaurant will host a Sunday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has charged Jonathan Chacon, 23, in connection with the slayings of Vicki Bergman, 59, and Courtney Bergman, 19. Chacon will next appear in court for arraignment March 27, and until then, he will be held without bail.

Because of the circumstances surrounding the double homicide, Chacon is eligible for the death penalty, according to the District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty in the case.

This story has made me so angry. This young lady was at the beginning of the most amazing journey-life itself! Her mama deserved to relax-sit back with the warmth of sunshine on her back knowing she had raised a beautiful gal and contributed to mankind as a nurse. So much was robbed of them and it breaks my heart. I'm just so sad for them...
