Blotter: Bicycles Stolen from Homes

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following information is from the Redondo Beach Police Department's Part I Crime Recap news release covering reports received Oct. 4-10.

Commercial burglaries

A female entered a business in the 1500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon with an empty shopping. She paid for one item but left with other items concealed in the bag, including a curling iron and perfume. The burglar is described as a 50-year-old white female with blonde hair and a medium build.

Someone attempted to enter a business in the 100 block of Fisherman’s Wharf between Oct. 4-5 by cutting a screen and molding on a sliding glass window. No loss was reported.

A man entered a business in the 400 block of North Pacific Coast Highway on Oct. 4 and stole Rogaine hair products and pregnancy tests. The thief is described as a 5-foot-5-inch, 200-pound black man. He drove off in a 2003 gray Ford Taurus.

Residential burglaries

Someone entered a home in the 2100 block of Warfield Avenue through an open window on Oct. 8 and stole two Mac power books, jewelry, a safe, a handgun and family documents.

Someone attempted to enter a home in the 2500 block of Graham Avenue on Oct. 8 by cutting or prying open a window. No loss was reported.

Someone entered a home in the 600 block of South Catalina Avenue on Oct. 7 and cut a lock and stole a men's Trek bicycle.

Someone entered a home in the 2700 block of Nelson Avenue on Oct. 7 through an unlocked window and stole a HP laptop computer,  jewelry, an Acer notebook computer, a Toshiba computer and cash.

Someone entered a home in the 1300 block of Irena Avenue on Oct. 5 through an open garage of a home and stole a backpack and fishing tackle.

Someone entered a home in the 400 block of Paulina Avenue by removing a window screen and then entering through the open window between Oct. 2-3.

Someone entered a home in the 600 block of Esplanade through unknown means between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 and stole a men's Fuji bicycle.

Vehicle burglary

A duffle bag, keys and paperwork were stolen from a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV on Oct. 8 that was parked in the 1900 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard.

Dog toys, cash and other property were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between Sept. 29-30 in the 400 block of Camino de las Colinas.
