Blotter: Residential Burglaries and Credit Card Fraud

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following information is from the Redondo Beach Police Department's Part I Crime Recap news release covering reports received Oct. 11-17.

Commercial burglaries

Someone entered an open business between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Oct. 13 in the 1600 block of Hawthorne Blvd. and purchased a gift card with a fraudulent credit card. The person then returned and purchased food and left without paying when the gift card was denied. The suspect drove off in a 2003 Honda Pilot.

Residential burglaries

A man entered a parking area and stole property from a vehicle between 5:09 a.m. and 6:29 a.m. on Oct. 13 in the 500 block of Esplanade. The man stole sunglasses and a garage remote. The thief is described as a slim, white or Hispanic man in his 30s.

A man entered a house through unknown means in the 200 block of South Catalina Avenue and stole Nerve strand cruiser betweem 7:40 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. on Oct. 8. The thief is described as a black man in his 40s.

A suspect entered a home in the 2500 block of Robinson by removing the screen of an unlocked window between 5:30 a.m. and 5:36 p.m. on Oct. 15 and stole a Ruger handgun, a Macbook, cigars and coins.

Someone entered a house in the 2300 block of Hill Lane through an unlocked door and stole tools between 1 p.m. and 11 a.m. sometime between Oct. 8 and Oct. 13.

Vehicle burglaries

A suspect stole cash, UCLA parking permits, RB parking permit and a UCLA gate access card  from a Toyota Corolla in the 500 block of Avenue G between 12:05 a.m. and 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 14.

Someone entered a secured parking garage between 11:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 in the 300 block of Knob Hill through unknown means. The suspect smashed the passenger window of a 2009 Volkswagen EOS and stole items, including an iPod, a backpack and a garage door opener.

Someone smashed the window of a 1991 Toyota Corolla between 2:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the 800 block of Camino Real and stole an Acer, a laptop, a tablet computer, a DVD player and a black bag.

A suspect broke into a 1999 Kia Sportage between 11:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. between Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 in the 2600 block of Rockefeller and stole a California Disabled parking placard.

Someone smashed a passenger window and broke into a 2008 Honda between 5:55 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. on Oct. 9 and stole a purse.
