Blotter: Vandalism in the Hollywood Riviera

The following information is from the Redondo Beach Police Department's Part I crime recap news release covering reports received July 5 through Wednesday.

Commercial burglaries in Redondo Beach

Two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting Tuesday afternoon. According to police, the pair used wire cutters to remove loss-prevention cables from merchandise at the South Bay Galleria and leave without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Mimi Carr was arrested Monday night on suspicion of shoplifting. Police said she walked into a store in the 2100 block of Artesia Boulevard, filled a shopping cart with merchandise and left without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Jonathan Riehlman was arrested the afternoon of July 5 on suspicion of shoplifting. Police said he walked into an open business in the 1500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard and removed items without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered. 

Residential burglaries in Redondo Beach

A bicycle was stolen from an unsecured garage in the 500 block of the Esplanade at some point between the afternoon of July 11 and Saturday morning.

Two bicycles were stolen from an underground parking area in the 1100 block of Camino Real at some point July 4 or 5.

Residential burglary in the Hollywood Riviera

On the evening of July 4, a tablet and jewelry were taken from a home in the 100 block of Via Monte D'Oro. The burglar entered through an unlocked door and ransacked the house.

Vehicle burglaries in Redondo Beach

Someone broke into a 2007 GMC Denali parked at the South Bay Galleria on July 11 by damaging the driver side door lock. The loss is currently unknown.

A "MoMo" steering wheel and four "Equips" wheel caps were stolen from a 1991 Acura Integra parked at Target in North Redondo Beach on July 10.

Sunglasses and a cosmetic bag with makeup were stolen July 4 from a 2012 Mercedes 300 parked in the 800 block of North Harbor Drive. The thief picked the trunk's lock.

At some point between July 8-9, someone punched the driver's side door lock of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the 2400 block of Grant Avenue. The thief stole a GPS device and CDs.

Tools were stolen between July 8-9 from a 2001 Ford E250 van parked in the 2300 block of Marshallfield Lane after a thief punched the passenger door lock.

A GPS device was stolen July 11 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Camino de las Colinas.

Stolen vehicles in Redondo Beach

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Century Station on July 10 recovered a black 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that had been stolen earlier that day from the parking lot of the South Bay Galleria.

On July 9, Redondo Beach police recovered in Paramount a 2011 Ford E150 van stolen July 8 from the 2300 block of Clark Lane.

Vandalism in the Hollywood Riviera

On July 5, someone used a marker to deface the rain gutter on a house in the 300 block of Camino de las Colinas.
