Car Crash Causes Power Outage

Power is expected to be restored to a neighborhood in North Redondo Beach on Tuesday morning.

About 20 Southern California Edison customers in North Redondo Beach near the Hermosa Beach border will remain without power until early Tuesday morning, according to Edison spokeswoman Nancy Rodriguez Casanova.

According to the Daily Breeze, the outage began after a delivery truck rolled into a power pole on Van Horne Lane in South Redondo Beach. The truck also hit two retaining walls and three parked cars.

The crash caused two transformers along Van Horne Lane to blow out, Casanova told Patch. Nearly two dozen customers on Van Horne Lane lost power.
