Car Strikes 60-Year-Old Man Walking on 405 in Torrance
It's unclear how the man ended up walking on the highway
A 60-year-old man who was walking on the southbound the San Diego (405) Freeway in Torrance was fatally struck by a car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatality was reported at 8:48 p.m. north of Vermont Avenue, said CHP Officer Tony Polizzi. The number two, three and four southbound lanes are expected to remain closed for at least two hours, he said.
It's unclear how the man ended up walking on the highway, Polizzi said.
