A DUI and driver's license checkpoint will be set up somewhere within Redondo Beach city limits from 7 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the .
Officers will check motorists passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, as well as proper licensing, police said. Those caught driving impaired can expect jail time, license suspension, insurance increases, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
Police will try to delay motorists only momentarily.
