First Rainstorm this Season Leads to Freeway Crashes

About 404 crashes occurred during Wednesday's light rain, according to the California Highway Patrol.

There were 404 crashes on Los Angeles freeways during the 24 hours of light, intermittent rain from 5 a.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. today, compared with 260 crashes during the same period last week, when it did not rain, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The 260 crashes occurred from 5 a.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 3, said CHP Officer A. Rubio.
