Fundraiser Scheduled for Goldberg Kids

The Redondo Beach Police Officers and Firefighters associations will host a fundraiser for the Goldberg Kids Fund next Wednesday.

Continuing their campaign to support the children of a homicide victim, the Redondo Beach Police Officers and Firefighters associations will host a fundraiser at on March 28.

From 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., the restaurant will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from participating meals to the Goldberg Kids Fund, according to a news release from the RBPOA. To participate, diners should present a copy of the Red Robin official community notice flier when they order.

The Goldberg Kids Fund was established for the children—ages 10 and 13—of Russell and Margaret Goldberg. Police believe Russell Goldberg shot and killed Margaret Goldberg—also known as Peggy Duffy—and later committed suicide during a three-hour standoff on a Utah Highway.

People who wish to donate directly to the Goldberg Kids Fund can do so at the Redondo Beach branch at 2304 Artesia Blvd. and Torrance branch at 25360 Crenshaw Blvd.

Checks made out to the Goldberg Kids Fund can also be mailed to the RBPOA office at the following address:

713 S. Pacific Coast Hwy., #J
Redondo Beach, CA 90277

All donations made to the account will be transferred into a trust fund for the children, according to the RBPOA.

For more information, contact RBPOA President Dave Taneman at 310-613-3230.

The participating Red Robin is located in the at 1815 Hawthorne Boulevard in North Redondo Beach.
