A 36-year-old Wilmington man killed early Sunday morning in a Redondo Beach car crash has been identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
The crash happened just after midnight when Juan Ulises Hernandez's car struck a tree on the Inglewood Avenue off-ramp of the northbound 405 (San Diego) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.
People at the scene tried to revive Hernandez with CPR, CHP officials said.
A news photographer at the scene said the four-door sedan struck the tree on Hernandez's side door.
Both the on-ramp and off-ramp were shut down during the accident cleanup and investigation.
