Memorials Set to Honor Bergmans

Memorials have been scheduled for Vicki Bergman and her daughter, Courtney, who were killed in their apartment on Rockefeller Lane.

At least two memorials have been set to honor the lives of Vicki and Courtney Bergman, who were killed last week in a double slaying.

The first event will take place Thursday in Lakeside, Calif.—near San Diego—at 2 p.m. It will be a "celebration of life," according to Elle Hall, a family member.

Friends of the family are raising money to pay for funeral costs. Donations can be made to the Vicki and Courtney Bergman Trust, account No. 3009158188, at any local Chase Bank. Money not used for funeral costs will go to a local domestic violence shelter.

Police believe Jonathan Chacon, 23, killed the two women in their home on Rockefeller Lane before fleeing to Mexico. Authorities captured him, and he was transferred to the custody of the last Wednesday.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has charged Chacon with two counts of capital murder with special circumstances, making him eligible for the death penalty. He is currently being held without bail.
