Jonathan Scott Chacon, the man accused of killing Vicki Bergman, 59, and her 19-year-old daughter, Courtney, in their apartment on Rockefeller Lane in North Redondo Beach, will be arraigned at the Torrance Courthouse on Tuesday.
This will be the second arraignment for Chacon, 23. During the first, he did not enter a plea.
Chacon is charged with two counts of capital murder with special circumstances because police believe he used a knife. He is eligible for the death penalty; however, prosecutors have not yet said whether they will seek the death penalty.
Chacon is currently being held without bail at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Information Center. He is not accepting visitors.
The arraignment comes the day after a memorial service for the Bergman women. Friends have scheduled a nondenominational memorial for the pair at 7 p.m. Monday at , located at 415 Vincent St.
