Officers arrested a suspect Thursday morning in Torrance on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to a news release from Redondo Beach police Sgt. Shawn Freeman, Hawthorne resident Elar Camacho, 53, stabbed the victim during a business dispute at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot behind the Thirsty Club.
Two friends drove the victim to the hospital, where staff notified Redondo Beach police, Freeman said. Officers instituted a "manhunt" for the suspect.
Camacho was arrested after a witness called the Torrance Police Department on Thursday, saying Camacho was at the Roadium Swap meet. Torrance police officers detained Camacho and handed him to Redondo Beach officers for booking, Freeman said.
Officers are holding Camacho at the Redondo Beach Police Department pending arraignment on a $1.03 million bail, Freeman said.
The victim, who remains in the hospital, is listed in stable condition, Freeman said.
