Police are looking for a red 2005 Ford Explorer believed to be involved in two vehicle break-ins in a Northrop Grumman parking lot on Marine Avenue in Manhattan Beach.

In each instance, the red SUV can be seen parked next to the victims' vehicles in the lot at 1801 Marine Ave., according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department. The parking lot is located just across the city's border with Redondo Beach, and near Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems' Space Park campus.

The first burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and noon Oct. 13. The thief smashed a car window with a gas cap and stole a purse. Another burglary occurred around 6:15 p.m. Oct. 26 when someone smashed a vehicle’s rear window and stole a purse and Apple iPad.

Anyone with information related to the Ford Explorer or break-ins is asked to contact MBPD Detective Shawn Thompson at sthompson@citymb.info or 310-802-5124.
