RBPD Officer Promoted to Sergeant

Sgt. Alan Beck will be assigned to the Patrol Division as a supervisor.

The Redondo Beach Police Department has a new sergeant as Officer Alan Beck was recently promoted, the department said last week in a news release.

Beck, a 20-year veteran of law enforcement, initially worked with the Pasadena Police Department before he was hired by the RBPD in 1997.

As a member of the RBPD, Beck has worked in patrol, at the substation on the pier, as a field training officer, in the South Bay Platoon and as a detective in the Investigations Division, according to the news release.

He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University, and he lives with his girlfriend and two dogs, according to the news release.

Once the newly minted sergeant finishes a training program, Beck will become a supervisor in the Patrol Division.
