Redondo Beach Crime: Burglaries

The Redondo Beach Police Department recently dealt with multiple burglaries, according to the department's Part I Crime Recap  covering reports received Nov. 1 through Friday.

Commercial burglaries in Redondo Beach

Cash was stolen from a business on the Redondo Beach Pier at some point between Nov. 4 and last Tuesday morning. The burglar entered the business through an unlocked rear window.

A burglar smashed the glass front door of a business in the 1700 block of Aviation Boulevard at about 1:45 a.m. Nov. 5; however, no loss was reported.

Dawn Sohigian was arrested on suspicion of burglary in the evening of Nov. 2. According to police, she entered Kohl's in North Redondo Beach and removed merchandise without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Police arrested Yasira Abdalah on suspicion of burglary on Halloween. Officers believe she entered a business in the South Bay Marketplace in North Redondo Beach and removed items without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Residential burglaries in Redondo Beach

Two bikes, two watches and a college ring were stolen Nov. 5 from a house in the 1700 block of Haynes Lane. The burglar entered the home by prying open the rear sliding door.

A burglar entered an open garage in the 1700 block of MacKay Lane Nov. 4 and stole a bike.

Steven Thrane was arrested on burglary charges Nov. 2. According to police, he entered an open garage in the 100 block of South Broadway and stole items. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

A purse and its contents were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage in the 2500 block of Rockefeller Lane at some point between 6:30 a.m. Oct. 31 and 1 a.m. Nov. 1.

Vehicle burglaries in Redondo Beach

Police arrested James Paddock on suspicion of attempted burglary Nov. 5. According to police reports, he tried to force open the passenger door of a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner parked in the 2100 block of Artesia Boulevard.

Paperwork was stolen from a 2001 Toyota Tacoma truck parked in the 2100 block of Mathews Avenue during the early morning of Nov. 3. Police aren't sure how the burglar entered the car.

A burglar somehow entered a 2008 Toyota Corolla parked in the 1900 block of Artesia Boulevard on Halloween and stole a Dell laptop, a backpack with books and a wallet containing cash.

A wallet with identification, credit cards and cash was stolen from a 2012 Ford Explorer parked in the 500 block of North Helberta on Halloween.

Vehicle burglaries in the Hollywood Riviera

A burglar used a victim's hidden key to break into a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Paseo de la Playa on Nov. 5 and steal bank cards.

Stolen vehicles in Redondo Beach

On Wednesday, Gardena police recovered a green 1999 Honda Civic that had been stolen from the 400 block of Avenue G at some point between the evening of Oct. 5 and Tuesday morning.
