The Redondo Beach Police Department recently dealt with the following crimes, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering reports received Nov. 9 through Wednesday.
The Torrance Police Department reported one burglary in the Hollywood Riviera—an area of Torrance where the properties have Redondo Beach addresses—on Nov. 9.
Commercial burglaries in Redondo Beach
Mitchell Ward and Mary Rowland were arrested on suspicion of passing counterfeit bills Monday night. According to police, the duo tried to purchase items at Target with the fake cash. No loss was reported.
A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of burglary after he allegedly walked into a business in the 4000 block of Inglewood Avenue and removed items without paying Sunday evening. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.
Casey Clark was arrested on suspicion of burglary early Sunday morning. According to police, he smashed the window of a business in the 800 block of North Pacific Coast Highway. No loss was reported.
Residential burglaries in Redondo Beach
Burglars broke the back gate to get onto a property in the 1800 block of Carnegie lane at some point between early Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. Once on the property, the culprits cut the window screens and tried to slide open the windows. No loss was reported.
Burglars entered a residence in the 200 block of Sapphire Street Monday morning via unknown means. No loss was reported.
Four bicycles, two bicycle helmets, a wallet and gift cards were stolen from an open garage in the 1700 block of Armour Lane on Saturday evening.
No loss was reported after someone smashed the rear window of a home in the 2000 block of Graham Avenue early Sunday morning.
Residential burglary in the Hollywood Riviera
A home in the 100 block of Via Mesa Grande was ransacked Nov. 9 between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. A pillowcase, jewelry, watch and laptop were stolen.
Stolen vehicles in Redondo Beach
A black 2005 Mercedes C240 was stolen from the 500 block of Avenue G last weekend; however, it was recovered by the Santa Fe Springs division of the California Highway Patrol on Sunday.
