Blotter: Pink Purse, Floor Lantern Stolen

The following information is from the Redondo Beach Police Department's Part I Crime Recap news release covering reports received Jan. 4-9.

Commercial burglaries

Jan. 5, 12:51 p.m.; 1600 block of Kingsdale Avenue
A person described as a 23- to 27-year-old Asian man weighing about 170 pounds stole clothing and a slingbox from Target.

Jan. 5, 1:22 p.m.; 1600 block of Kingsdale Avenue
Carlos E. Salazar was arrested in connection with a burglary at Target. Police believe he entered the store and removed items without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Jan. 5; 300 block of North Harbor Drive
Someone entered a business via unknown means and stole cash, a passport, credit cards and an Australian driver's license.

Jan. 3, 7:05 p.m.; 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
Shaquille D. Barber was arrested in connection with a burglary at the South Bay Galleria. Police believe he walked into an open business and removed items without paying.

Jan. 2; 300 block of South Pacific Coast Highway
A group of people entered an open business and stole a pink purse and miscellaneous makeup. The shoplifters are described as an 18- to 20-year-old, 5-foot-9-inch, 150-pound black man; a 20- to 25-year-old, 160-pound black woman; and a 20- to 25-year-old, 150-pound black woman. They were driving an older model maroon sedan.

Residential burglaries

Jan. 7; 2100 block of Havemeyer Lane
A burglar broke in to a home by smashing the window on the kitchen door. No loss was reported.

Jan. 7; 2600 block of Mackay Lane
A burglar entered via an open garage door and stole miscellaneous electronics, a digital camera, two iPads, an iPad air and cash.

Jan. 5-7; 500 block of Lucia Avenue
A lantern with a white candle was stolen from a backyard.

Jan. 3-4; 2000 block of Farrell Avenue
Someone stole cash and a cellphone with a cover from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage.

Vehicle burglaries

Jan. 3; 1900 block of Carnegie Lane
Someone smashed the passenger window of a 2000 Lexus RX300 and stole a purse containing a wallet with cash and credit cards.

Dec. 31-Jan. 3; 1900 block of Morgan Lane
Two purses, a wallet, checkbook, cash, personal papers and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from a 2012 Toyota Prius.
