Blotter: Stolen Body Lotion, Shoes

The following information is from the Redondo Beach Police Department's Part I Crime Recap news release covering reports received Dec. 20-30.

Commercial robberies

Loren L. Nava was arrested in connection with a commercial robbery in the 300 block of South Pacific Coast Highway on the evening of Dec. 27. Police believe he entered the open business and took items without paying, then assaulted store employees on his way out. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Alec Monroe and Scott Talmadge were arrested in connection with a commercial robbery in the 1900 block of Artesia Boulevard on the evening of Dec. 24. Police allege that the pair entered the open business and grabbed alcohol from an employee before leaving. The alcohol was not recovered.

Commercial burglaries

A wallet and its contents were stolen from an open business in the South Bay Galleria on Dec. 26. The thief took the wallet from a storeroom.

Robert J. Alvarez was arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with an incident in the 300 block of South Pacific Coast Highway on Nov. 26. Police believe he entered the open business and took items without paying. No loss was reported; the items were recovered.

Police are searching for two people who followed a delivery person into an office building in the 200 block of Avenue I in Riviera Village and entered an employee-only area Dec. 20. The two people stole a wallet and its contents from the area. The burglars were described as a 30-year-old, 6 foot tall, 300-pound black man with black hair and brown eyes and a 25-year-old, 5-foot-4-inch, 210-pound black woman with brown hair and brown eyes.

Someone smashed a side window at a business in the 300 block of Avenue D between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22 and 9:!5 a.m. Dec. 23. No loss was reported; the items were recovered.

Dan Gomez was arrested in connection with a burglary in the 2500 block of Marine Avenue on Dec. 19. Police believe he entered an open business and used fake information to purchase an expensive item. No loss was reported.

Residential burglaries

A burglar cut the top of a 1996 BMW 320sl convertible and stole a body lotion gift pack and fiber optic lights on Dec. 21. The car was parked in a secured garage in the 600 block of the Village.

Someone stole a Firm Strong Chief men's bicycle and an Urban men's bicycle from an unlocked garage in the 700 block of North Guadalupe Avenue Dec. 20-21.

A cellphone and pearl necklace were stolen from a 2010 BMW 528i parked in the 600 block of the Villlage on Dec. 20-21. Police don't know how the thief entered the secured garage and the vehicle.

A garage remote, headset, sunglasses, coins, shoes, racquetball equipment and binoculars were stolen from a 1988 Toyota Avalon parked in a garage in the 2100 block of Farrell Avenue on Dec. 10-11.

Vehicle burglaries

A face mask and mechanic's gloves were stolen Dec. 28-29 from a 2007 Ford Fusion parked in the 2000 block of Mathews Lane.

A burglar smashed the driver's window of a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox on Dec. 23-24 and stole clothing, gift cards, a watch and food. The car was parked in the 2100 block of Farrell Avenue.

A camera and lens were stolen Dec. 22-23 from a 2012 Ford F-150 truck that was parked near the intersection of Del Amo and North Lucia streets.

Stolen vehicles

A black 1994 Nissan XE2000 truck, license No. 5E16553, was stolen Dec. 28 from the 2800 block of Artesia Boulevard.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Century Station on Dec. 28 recovered a silver 2001 Ford F-250 van stolen Dec. 25-26 from the 500 block of South Juanita Avenue.

Deputies with the LASD Century Station on Dec. 26 recovered a red 1999 Ford F-250 stolen Dec. 25-26 from the 600 block of Avenue C.

A gray 1994 Honda Civic, license No. 5HSA635, was stolen Dec. 19-20 from the area around the intersection of Emerald Street and Pacific Coast Highway.

The California Highway Patrol in Oceanside recovered a red 2011 Ford F-150 truck that was stolen Dec. 12 from the 400 block of Avenue F.
