A Redondo Beach man charged with exposing himself to girls in Torrance is not currently considered a suspect in a similar case in Redondo Beach, police said Tuesday.
Evan Christopher Pflock, 25, was charged earlier this month with five misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and five counts of annoying or molesting children in connection to a series of indecent exposure incidents in Torrance, the Daily Breeze reported last week.
Two of the incidents occurred near West High School and Bert Lynn Middle School. In both incidents, the girls told police that the man somehow caught their attention, and when they looked over, they saw he was exposing his penis.
The witnesses described the man as having a thin build, light blue eyes and crooked teeth, City News Service reported in May.
Torrance police tied Pflock to the incidents after questioning, and if convicted, he could face up to 7 1/2 years in jail. He would also be required to register as a sex offender, the Daily Breeze reported.
The Redondo Beach incident occurred in February, according to Sgt. Shawn Freeman of the Redondo Beach Police Department.
"After the Torrance Police Department arrest came out, that's when the (Redondo Beach) case got looked at to see if that was the same guy," Freeman told Patch. No positive identification was made.
The Daily Breeze also reported that Hermosa Beach police reported a similar incident; however, there was not enough evidence to prosecute Pflock.
