Lawson was killed and three other people escaped with minor injuries from a two-vehicle crash in Westwood, a police lieutenant said Saturday morning.
The collision at Sepulveda Boulevard and Montana Avenue occurred at 5:55 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles police Lt. Theodore Edwards of the West Traffic Division.

Andrew Haban, a 20-year-old resident of Ventura, made a U-turn in a 2010 Ford Focus while going southbound on Sepulveda Boulevard and was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by John Radovic, a 33-year-old resident of Redondo Beach, Edwards said.
Radovic, the lone occupant inside the sport utility vehicle, and three occupants in the Ford were rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where Lawson - who was in the Ford - was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m. Friday, he said.
The remaining injured had only complaints of pain and escaped the crash with minor injuries, Edwards said. No one was arrested or cited.
