Redondo Man Dies on 'Lone Ranger' Movie Set

The coroner's office is working to determine the cause of death.

The coroner's office today released the name of a crew member who drowned on a ranch near Palmdale, where The Lone Ranger movie starring Johnny Depp was being filmed.

Michael Andrew Bridger, 48, of Redondo Beach, was pronounced dead at a hospital, said Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter.

While an autopsy was still pending, there were indications Bridger died from a heart attack while he was working in a pool and wearing scuba equipment.

Paramedics and deputies were sent to the 5700 block of Soledad Canyon Road shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. Deputy Dan McPherson of the Palmdale sheriff's station said the ranch is frequently used as a film set.
