Redondo Woman Arrested in Shooting Death

Kathryn Gilberto is accused of being an accessory to murder in the Oct. 18 slaying of a South El Monte man.

A 34-year-old South El Monte man and a 27-year-old Redondo Beach woman were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in South El Monte, authorities said Wednesday.

Randy Duran, 31, of South El Monte was shot to death in the 2400 block of Continental Avenue on Oct. 18, according to Deputy Kim Manatt of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

Fernando Olivo was arrested on suspicion of murder and Kathryn Gilberto was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder, Manatt said.

A motive for the crime was not released, and sheriff's investigators were also not releasing additional information about the circumstances of the case.
