The motorcyclist, identified by the coroner's office as Mark Magtanong of Bellflower, lost control of his 2003 Harley Davidson for unknown reasons, then was struck by a big rig, Bishop said.

The motorcycle continued northbound and struck the rear of a 2012 Volkswagen Passat, he said, but it was not immediately clear if that driver suffered any injuries.
