Daughter of John Bogert to Speak at Veterans Day Service

The city will hold its annual Veterans Day observance at Veterans Park on Sunday.

Redondo Beach will hold its annual Veterans Day observance at Veterans Park beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Scheduled to speak are Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, state Sen. Ted Lieu, Mayor Mike Gin and Rachael Bogert, the daughter of the late Daily Breeze columnist John Bogert.

John Bogert, along with the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial Task Force, was a supporter of the park's Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial. Sunday's event will mark the two-year anniversary of the memorial's ribbon cutting.

Music will be provided by Redondo Union High School and the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.

A barbecue picnic organized by the Redondo Elks will follow in the parking lot next to the park.
