National Chocolate Cupcake Day, Fashion Show

Here are some things to look forward to today in Redondo Beach.

Happy Friday! Here are five things Redondo Beach residents should know today:

1. Friday is National Chocolate Cupcake Day. So why not whip up a batch! Tell us how you plan to celebrate the day in the comments.

2. There will be a live fashion show featuring exotic fashions with an international flair at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center located at 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd. The event is sponsored by Charles Brown Productions. The Inner City Child Development and Youth Foundation is also partnering in the effort. For more information, call (213)926-2809.

3. There will be an Adult Book of the Month meeting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, to discuss the book, The Falls, by Joyce Carol Oates. The meeting will be held in the second floor conference room at the Main Library located at 303 North Pacific Coast Highway. For more information, call (310) 318-0675, ext. 5.
