Redondo Resident Named to State Business Oversight Department

Lila Mirrashidi is now the deputy commissioner of business regulation at the California Department of Business Oversight.

A Redondo Beach woman was appointed deputy commissioner of business regulation at the California Department of Business Oversight, California Gov. Jerry Brown announced in a news release earlier this month.

Lila Mirrashidi, 29, has been deputy commissioner of business regulation at the California Department of Corporations since 2012. She previously served as deputy appointments secretary for the governor's office from 2011-2012 and deputy research director for Brown's gubernatorial campaign from 2009-2010.

A Democrat, Mirrashidi received her law degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.

As a deputy commissioner, Mirrashida will receive a salary of $74,988. The position does not require Senate confirmation.
