Nancy Kelly Named 'Administrator of the Year'

Dr. Nancy Kelly, the director of human resources for Redondo Beach Unified School District, is recognized by her colleagues.

Dr. Nancy Kelly, the director of human resources for Redondo Beach Unified School District, is the Association of California School Administrators State Personnel/Human Resources Administrator of the Year for 2013, the school district announced this week in a news release.

"The award recognizes outstanding performance and achievement by individual administrators, classified managers or confidential employees in the various categories," according to the district. "Recipients … show strong support for the school management team; exceptional leadership in managing school programs; commitment to professional growth; and creativity and innovation in dealing with issues and problems facing public education."

Kelly received the regional Administrator of the Year award from ACSA Region 14, of which Redondo Beach is a part. The regional nominees are then sent to the state Awards Committee, which recommends one nominee in each category. The Board of Directors makes the final selection.

Kelly will be honored by ACSA District 14 at the Long Beach Grand Event Center at 4:30 p.m. State winners are honored at the ACSA Leadership Summit in November.
