"First Tuesdays: Get Fit; Get Up and Try!" Series Aimed At Preventing Conditions That Impact Mobility

Redondo Orthopedic Physical Therapy will launch its first in a series of ongoing monthly presentations dedicated to empowering the South Bay community to develop healthy habits that will prevent injuries and conditions impacting mobility.  The unique interactive presentations will consist of a “teach and try” approach where, following a short presentation on the topic, participants will break into small groups and sample various activities.  The ultimate goal of this  “learn by doing” approach is to make permanent changes that will create a strong and healthy body.

Today’s presentation will focus on senior wellness and issues affecting older Americans, such as balance and nutrition.    Future modules will target athletes and active people on how to prevent injuries while playing sports or other fitness routines which can be debilitating and sideline them from their everyday activities.  Even families with small children can benefit by learning about the importance of good posture and potential risky behaviors such as kids carrying heavy backpacks to school.
