Harmony Yoga has been in business since 1999. Najla Coury, a Harmony Yoga instructor since 2002, purchased the studio with Jay Borzi in July 2011. Najla was born and raised in Redondo Beach and the Coury family has been in Redondo Beach since the 1920’s, where her family opened the first dry cleaning business in the South Bay, Coury & Son’s.
Najla Coury started teaching yoga in 2002 under the guidance of Chappell Foote. Najla purchased Harmony Yoga 9 ½ years later, and she is happy to carry on her family tradition of owning and operating a small business in Redondo Beach. She knows what it takes to own a small business having watched her father work 6 days a week at his cleaners.
Najla has been deeply touched and transformed by yoga. She firmly believes that yoga is a catalyst for self discovery. Najla teaches a style of yoga called Vinyasa Music Flow. She inspires her students to realizes their physical potential and find their inner strength. Najla encourages her students to approach physical challenges with a calm and clear mind. This is a transferrable skill which they can call upon during the trials and tribulations of life.
Najla strives to create a Yoga Kula (Yoga Community) in Redondo Beach for both her loyal students and the community. “It is very exciting to create something fresh from something already in existence.”
