Kings Alums, Stanley Cup to Visit Redondo

Multiple Kings alumni will appear at the Redondo Beach Cafe for the Stanley Cup's visit on Wednesday.

Nelson Emerson, Ian Turnbull, Jason Doig, Jim Fox and Daryl Evans will be among the alumni from the Los Angeles Kings and other hockey teams who are scheduled to appear with the Stanley Cup at the from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the city of Redondo Beach announced in a news release Thursday.

The Los Angeles Kings beat the New Jersey Devils to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in June. Since then, the cup has been traversing the world. Previous stops have included Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.

The Stanley Cup's visit to Redondo Beach is part of a fundraiser for the Kings Care Foundation, the Kings' children's charity that provides in-kind and monetary support for the Los Angeles Community, according to the city.

For $10 per person, visitors will be able to take a photo with the cup, according to the city. The event will be held in the restaurant's parking lot, where Kings alumni will be available for autographs. Members of the Kings Ice Crew are also scheduled to appear.

The Kings Cares Foundation has provided more than $5 million since 1996 to local charities supporting youth causes.
