Surf Report: Cleaner Conditions

Low tide: -0.8 feet, 4:42 a.m.; 2.3 feet, 3:40 p.m. High tide: 3.6 feet, 11:19 a.m. Water temperature: 57-58 degrees.

Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report.  Well, the surf is looking like more of the same, with some small- to playful-sized waves to be had. The good news: those conditions are much better than yesterday.

It's starting off mostly clean and glassy, with a continued combination of energy in the water. There's mainly south-southwest swell and some minor leftover northwest wind and groundswell underneath it.

That recipe is offering some racy, sectiony lines with some nice shoulders, but some of the bigger sets are a little closed-out due to the early morning negative low tide.  Most Redondo Beach spots are seeing knee- to stomach-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling some chest-high sets.

At 4:42 a.m., the tide drained out to a -0.8-foot low, which will have several spots in need of water early on. The tide will climb to a 3.6-foot high at 11:19 a.m. before dropping to a 2.3-foot low at 3:40 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to throw on no less than a 3/2 mm fullsuit and maybe booties, with the water temperature hanging between 57 and 58 degrees.
