Surf Report: Crummy Conditions

High tide: 3.6 feet, 10:39 a.m. Low tide: -0.7 feet, 4:07 a.m.; 2.2 feet, 3:04 p.m. Water temperature: 57-59 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's nothing to write home about, that's for sure. Conditions are looking a little unorganized. We're dealing with some texture or bump on the water from the start.

As far as the waves go, there's a small- to playful-sized combination of energy in the water. There's some leftover northwest swell and some new southern energy out there. That recipe is offering some crumbly and bumpy lines, with a few workable ones.

Most Redondo Beach spots are seeing knee- to waist-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling some stomach-high and higher sets.

Taking a look at the tide—at 4:07 a.m., it drained out to a -0.7-foot low. It will push back up to a 3.6-foot at 10:39 a.m. and drops once again to a 2.2-foot low at 3:04 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 mm fullsuit and possibly  booties because the water temperature is averaging between 57 and 58 degrees.
