Surf Report: Fun-Sized Surf

The tide will climb to a 4.0 high at 4:21 p.m.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, you're definitely not going to find any solid surf out there, but it's looking pretty playful at some of those top combo spots.

We're seeing some fairly clean conditions, with some spots seeing some texture on the surface. Taking a look at the waves—there's more of a combination of energy out there. We have some remnant south swell and some new northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering this stretch of sand with some racy, sectiony lines, with some fun pick-and-choose corners. Most spots in Redondo Beach are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the focal points pulling a few larger sets.

At 9:08 a.m. the tide drops to a 0.3 low, which will have many spots lacking water and seeming inconsistent mid-morning. The tide then climbs to a 4.0 high at 4:21 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, then you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature hanging on the cool side and averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. See you in the water!
